All hydraulic systems depend on hydraulic fluid. It is critical to understand the interaction between the polymers used to make elastomer compounds and the operating fluid when specifying seals for these systems. To ensure long-term performance and durability, the elastomer compound must be compatible with the fluid. Also, it must be capable of withstanding the operating environment. The fluids often utilized in aerospace applications are included in the table below, along with the most appropriate Arylast™ elastomer compound:
